“……”
Will Graham looked up to make eye contact with Alana. It showed that he trusted her, allowing her to see all the hurt and fear that his eyes felt was a big step. He didn’t feel like a patient or a pawn to her, but like a friend. That was something he truly needed.
“If I didn’t know any better I would assume that you were only agreeing to this date to be with my dogs.” Will smiled, clearing his throat. “So… I’ll see you around seven?”

Alana wasn’t blind to Will’s exceptions. However she would never acknowledge it. She savored his favoritism to her far more than casting him out on it. All she did was smile, smile and gawk at his awkwardness.
She did find it cute.
“It seems you have me beat, Will Graham. I go on dates with men just to be with their dogs.” She rolled her eyes, tilting her head ever so slightly, allowing her dark curls to push off of her shoulder.
“Don’t forget the..flowers.
There hadn’t been a moment since she had last thought of the two of them kissing. It had been in the back of her mind, but she never thought on acting on it ever again. However, seeing Will in such a state, sitting in front of her with shackles around his wrists and ankles, practically held to the table, it made her think otherwise.
She moved her palms onto the top of his, showing affection with her fingertips before hovering her lips down to the center of his palm, and pressing a tender kiss there.
”My voice will be with you.”
“No matter how deep you go in.”
“How about dinner at my place. I can fry some fish, and we could watch a movie?”

“Sounds like a date.”
“You, and your strays.”
“A twelve pack of beer, maybe?”

“It’s definitely more useful than flowers.”
“Do you like roses… I could get you some of those.”

“I’m not a fan of flowers that only have one meaning.”

A simple observation. But whenever someone put the word ‘love’ before a phase when talking to Alana, it was always hard to swallow. Coming from Will, she can’t help but feel a genuine approach.
“Thank you.”
“You’re still interested in dinner, right?”

“Unless I’ve changed my mind in the last few minutes.”
“Yes.”
